Modern Intranet Portal with
Hub Site Architecture
ChronoVerse Inc.
The Challenge
Fragmented Communication with No Central Hub
ChronoVerse Inc. had grown rapidly across multiple departments, but their internal communications infrastructure had not kept pace. News and announcements were scattered across emails, shared drives, and disconnected SharePoint sites that had been created independently over the years with no unified navigation or branding.
Department sites were siloed — HR could not surface content on the IT site, and leadership had no single place to broadcast company-wide updates. There was no employee directory, no centralised events calendar, and no way for staff to find colleagues or resources without knowing exactly where to look.
Leadership needed a unified digital workplace that would serve as the single front door for all internal communications, department resources, and employee self-service — and it needed to be built and rolled out without disrupting ongoing operations.
No employee directory — staff had no way to find colleagues, contact details, or org structure
Company news delivered only by email — no central news hub, no archive, no priority visibility
Events calendar did not exist — team events and company milestones went unnoticed by remote staff
Department sites disconnected — no shared navigation, no cross-department content surfacing
The Solution
End-to-End Hub Site with 8 Custom SPFx Web Parts
Akshara Technologies designed and built a complete SharePoint Online hub site for ChronoVerse Inc., establishing the intranet home portal as the anchor of a hub site architecture. Five department sites — HR, IT, Finance, Operations, and Marketing — were connected to the hub, inheriting shared navigation, branding, and search scope automatically.
Eight custom SPFx web parts were built using React and Fluent UI: a company news aggregator pulling from all connected sites, an events calendar synced with Microsoft Graph, a quick links launcher, an employee spotlight rotator, a department shortcuts panel, a live announcement banner, a search-driven people directory, and a CEO message web part with rich media support.
Microsoft Graph API integration ensured that employee profiles, org chart data, and department memberships were always live — no manual content duplication required. Content editors in each department could publish to their own site, and approved content automatically surfaced on the hub home portal.
